What Is Virtual Reality?? Virtual Reality refers to the experiance of interacting with a computer system that presents a "Virtual World" of simulated sights and sounds. The Virtual World is created from three-dimensional graphics and audio elements. The Virtual World is not prerecorded; it is generated on-the-fly by the computer. You can navigate and interact with the Virtual World and its contents at will. Based on your actions - where you look, what direction you move, what object you manipulate - the image display responds accordingly. The most effective VR experiances place you in such intimate proximity with the data that you easily disregard the real world.
Virtual Reality is the current trendy and hip word when it comes to high-tech.
VR can save your company, time & money. Ask any of the top 50 companies in the world and they will tell you that VR
has already been implemented in their company or is being seriously looked at right now. Or maybe they won't?? |

What We Can Do For You Here at Splatt Technologies we provide three services: We have the resources available to us to be able to provide you with most up to date and knowledgable VR information in Australasia. Over the past two years we have developed good contacts with all of Australia's major importers of VR Hardware and Software, from the suppliers of Garage VR equipement right through to international companies like Silicon Graphics. Sharing office space with one of Australia's leading 3D animation houses, Caged Productions, we have also made many good inroads into the Australian Animation Industry. This provides us with the ability to also be able to make informative decisions into the best software packages available today. With the diversity of the members of the Virtual Reality Association behind us, we can also bring in the knowledge of some of Australasia's leading VR visionaries from not only the public sector but also from the private. The membership of the VRA ranges from University students and professors right through to some of the worlds largest and technologically advanced private companies like BHP Research and AeroSpace Technologies (designers and builders of equipement for the Australian Air Force). It also includes many companies that both manufacture and/or sell the full range of VR equipement including Software and the full range of state of the art hardware (displays, audio, etc...) |

Where Are We Heading?? We are currently holding talks with many of the worlds leading VR manafacuring companies in regards to the possibilites of being a part of their distribution networks. Being in Australia has so far meant either a long delay or the inevitable chance that the latest Software or Hardware will take months to reach our shores or even worse, never appear. If the outcome of these talks is successfull, it will mean that we will hold the Australian Distribution rights or that we will at least become re-sellers of many fine products being sold in other parts of the world. This will also enable us to provide the Australasian VR market with the latest software and hardware at the same time as our American and European associates. It will mean that many up and coming VR developers in our region will be given the chance to bid for and hopefully win many of the advanced projects coming up for tender in other parts of the world. We also have many links with the Australasian architecture and game developer commmunity. With new technology being accepted into these fields we have been able to provide a variety of companies with the latest up to date information in regards to various projects both under way and still in the planning stages. These projects include both a multi-billion dollar VR Island/Holiday resort to be based in Asia as well as a mind blowing 360° simulator for the theme park industry that has ex-military personel interested in its development. |

Whats In The Future.... The future of Virtual Reality has many mind blowing concepts starting to imerge. With the hiring of a well established American VR development company by the U.S. military for the reason of providing them with the technology behind StarTreks Holodeck in the next twenty years, the VR community is moving ahead in leaps and bounds. Many areas once thought out of bounds to computer technology are starting to realise the possibilites that VR has to offer them. Fields as diverse as the medical community, car manufacturers, town planners, computer network administration, theme parks, bulk manufacturing companies, the oil industry and environmental groups, various Defence forces around the world and many others are starting to see the light in regard to this amazing technology.
What the future holds for VR is only limited by our imaginations, as the advancement of technology is happening at an
unbelievable rate. |
