Duke Nukem 3D on the XBOX

While it isn’t the long awaited release of the game that has taken forever to finish, “Duke Nukem Forever” (wikipedia), 3D Realms have announced that “Duke Nukem 3D for Xbox Live Arcade” has passed certification and is in the hands of Microsoft to distribute :)

Rocketboom.com founder in Melbourne

Simon Goodrich and the team over at Portable Film Festival have brought out the creator and founder of Rocketboom (wikipedia), Andrew Baron, for a series of events in Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne.

The “Leon” series of ads for ibm.com also starred a bunch of other people, including; Chris, Samantha, Singh, Captain McGloo, Julie, a Pizza guy, an ibm lawyer and Mrs Himmelfarb (Leon’s mum).i just need to remember where i archived them :(

Two of my favourites included one that had Leon’s mum calling and another one where Leon uses the “Cool-o-meter”.

I adore the IBM ads of the period between 1998 and 2003 that were mostly made by the Ogilvy&Mather ad agency in the US :)

It turns out that I have a few of them in my archived folders from my time while working in ad land for the Australian interactive arm of O&M that looked after IBM stuff locally…Singleton OgilvyInteractive.

Over the next few weeks i’ll post a few of my favourites up here for all to enjoy.

Sensation White

Let me put on my old lighting designer hat on for a minute and say…WOW

Sensation is a Dutch based Dance party organiser who runs these amazing events call “Sensation White” and “Black” (which originally was called “Sensation Black”)

Back in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s i was involved in designing and running some amazing light shows for some pretty big dance events that were housed in old unused Melbourne warehouses…but nothing on the scale of the 40,000 people that they get to these events in Europe….brilliant :)
