It’s going to be called “Purefold” and will be based in the period just before 2019 where the move was set.

It could be good…or it could be bad…but I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

It’s also being brand-funded with WPP, Publicis, Aegis and Naked Communications signing up clients to take part in it.

Well…that house is up for sale.

Released in 1995, the movie “Hackers” (wikipedia / imdb) was an interesting interpretation of hackers of that period, and while it had many inaccuracies in it, they were actually so inaccurate that to members of the hacker/cracker, phreak and warez scenes that i knew at the time they were quite funny and the movie ended up having a cult following with the group.

They certainly don’t make films like this one that often, so i would recommend that you all get out and see it at the cinema because your home entertainment system just won’t do the visuals and the sound justice when it gets around to be released on DVD in a few months time. Though saying that, this one will definitely end up in my DVD collection.

On one of my little “expeditions” in 2002 through “SA, WA and the NT, i spent some time traveling through some of the areas that they filmed the movie at and it certainly brought back some great memories of the place.

Over at YouTube you can also watch a video from 1995 that has the two Corey’s talking about the original movie.

Well, just over 20 years later we get a sequel, “Lost Boys: The Tribe” (IMDB – wikipedia), which reunites the two Corey’s and brings in Angus Sutherland who is the younger half-brother of Kiefer and plays the lead vampire.

The Rooftop Cinema is being held nearly every night between December the 12th 2006 and April 9th 2007 on the roof of “Curtin House” at 252 Swanston Street Melbourne (between Little Burke Street and Lonsdale Street). It will seat about 200 peple and the tickets are $18 plus a booking fee. Food , which is being cooked by Cookie (Australian Bar of the Year 2006), will be available and it is also fully licensed.
