I spent over four years as Executive Producer at Singleton OgilvyInteractive, one of Telstra's main ad agencies, and i know how hard it is to get them to do something interesting and a bit risky...but whoever sold them on the Pipping Australia idea needs to be given a medal and then shot...though it wouldn't surprise me if this idea was an internal one and the interactive agency that put it together for them was laughing all the way to the bank.
I don't even know if you should look at the site as it will over-inflate the site visit statistics they gather and may convince them to do something like this again.
On a better note, Telstra have announced that they are launching a public blogging service, called Big Blog, which also allows you to post photos and stuff from your mobile phone. I'm intetrested to see exactly what they have got planned and how easy it will be, but when i last checked, the sign-up page for teh service was saying "Coming Soon".
