A Nokia tablet internet device????

Whats going on here???

At the LinuxWorld Summit in New York on last Wednesday, Nokia announced an intersting Linux powered device called the Nokia 770. Its sort of like a Tablet PC...but the interesting thing is...it doesn't include a phone.

Form the press release:
"The Nokia 770 Internet Tablet is a dedicated device optimized for convenient Internet browsing and email communications in a sleek pocketsize format. The Nokia 770 Internet Tablet features an impressive high-resolution (800x480) widescreen display with zoom and on-screen keyboard, ideal for viewing online content over Wi-Fi. Aside from Wi-Fi, the device can also connect to the Internet utilizing Bluetooth wireless technology via a compatible mobile phone."

The "Nokia Internet Tablet 2005 software edition" device will include software that will allow you to listen to internet radio, read RSS feeds, view images, playback "selected" types of media and browse the web.

The press release says that they will start shipping to Nth America and Europe in the third quarter of 2005.
