Vice President of the Upper Yarra Valley Historical Society
Posted by Mick (SplaTT) Stanic under: Personal; Upper Yarra Valley .
At the end of February i was voted in as Vice President of the Upper Yarra Valley Historical Society :)

The major role of the society is to operate the Upper Yarra Museum which is located at the old railway station in the Victorian town of Yarra Junction in the gorgeous Upper Yarra Valley.
The society also currently holds two events a year at the museum, one of which is the “27th Vintage Engine Crank-up”, which is taking place at the end of this month on Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th of March (more details soon). The other event is the “Pioneer Skills Day” which is held in October.

As Vice President some of my goals include organising both the society’s and the museum marketing and PR activities, including; a new society logo (completed thanks to the brilliant work of the award winning team over at KRD) and museum logo (nearly finished), a new web presence (work is underway), the design and introduction of a digital archiving system (may take a while) and helping to increase both the membership and the visitor numbers.
If you are an Upper Yarra Valley local and are interested in joining, meetings of the Upper Yarra Historical Society are held at the Upper Yarra Museum in Yarra Junction, on the last Thursday of every month and start at 8pm.
If you want to visit our great museum, it’s open on Sunday’s and most public holidays between 1.30pm and 5.00pm.
