Principius officially closes for business

Posted by Mick (SplaTT) Stanic under: Principius .

Back in December 2004 when i left my management role at Singleton OgilvyInteractive, i started up a business called “Principius”, whose aim was to provide an Emerging Technology Consulting and Digital Solution Architecture service to both pure tech and digital companies along with old world marketing, advertising and media organisations…I had set myself up for a real challenge with that plan ;)

Principius

Nonetheless it attracted a bit of attention from the right people and I did quite a few projects for some largish firms both in Australia and overseas (while also co-founding The Podcast Network in February of 2005). After leaving TPN during the middle of 2006 for various reasons, Principius ramped up doing consulting work again and i continued doing presentations and speaking at quite a few conferences.

While the workload at Principius was starting to grow again, around the middle of 2007 I began turning down projects that would have required a longer time-frame to complete after a few other firms appeared offering similar services, and by the beginning of 2008, Principius had basically wound down as i took on a Director’s role at a Melbourne based firm called EYEfi.

Well…as of November 2008, Principius has officially closed its doors, and I would like to thank the individuals and the companies that believed enough in the use of emerging technologies to utilise my services…it certainly was fun.

And so after closing the dedicated Principius hosting account and creating a very simple page on my shared hosting service, I officially close one important and very satisfying part of my life with the immortal words of the author Douglas Adams…“So Long and Thanks for All the Fish” :)

Anyway…you will eventually be able to keep an eye on my future online and real-world projects at Honeysuckle Creek Pty Ltd, which i founded in January of 2008. Strangely enough, the name Honeysuckle Creek (the Australian based NASA tracking station which broadcast the first 10 minutes of the Apollo 11 moon landing) was one of the possible options, along with Principius, when i was trying to decide what to call my new endeavor during late December 2004.
