Aeron Chair ad on Australian TV

Posted by Mick (SplaTT) Stanic under: Art / Design; Dotcom 2 .

Back in the dot-com era, there was one thing you could count on in any good office (other than expensive parties on boats, pool tables, pinball machines and the occasional Lego desk) and that was an abundant supply of the Herman Miller Aeron Chair (Australian site at Living Edge).

I’ll be the first to admit, that if you have to spend hours sitting at a desk, then the Aeron Chair has to be the best chair that i have ever sat in (with the Steelcase Leap Chair coming in at second)…though at around $1,500AUD for a brand new chair, its probably a little out of most peoples initial price range.

While its not the most expensive thing in the world, for a chair it is pretty pricey, but since i left the excesses of the corporate world where other people pay for things (like Aeron Chairs and those Lego desks), i will own up to the fact that the thought of buying an Aeron Chair has crossed my mind once or twice (OK..five or six times actually), though i’ve never actually made the purchase…maybe one day…

Anyway…that leads me onto the fact that on early morning Australian television today, and for the first time since probably the dot-com era, i saw an ad for Aeron Chairs.

And some people would like to have us believe that we are in a recession…
