1980′s video clips: Great Southern Land

Icehouse were an Australian band that originally formed in 1977 as the “Flowers”, who in 1980 adopted the name “Icehouse”.

The band was an iconic part of the Australia music scene during the 80′s releasing a total of eight studio albums. The song “Great Southern Land”, from the Primitive Man album, was released in 1982 and peaked at number five on the Australian Singles Charts.

While the song “Electric Blue” (released in 1987) reached the number one position in Australia and number seven in the US Billboard Hot 100, “Great Southern Land” is probably their most remembered song.
