ReMIX 07 rocked!
Posted by Mick (SplaTT) Stanic under: Conferences; Events; Microsoft; Windows Live .
Microsoft Australia’s REMIX07 event held in Melbourne on Monday and Tuesday of this week was a huge success in my opinion…well done to the whole team at MS who put this together as well as to the partners and sponsors for getting involved.
Australia has been a bit lacking in web specific conferences in the past few years, so the idea to carry over the MIX event concept (that Microsoft had put on in Las Vegas for the past two years) into the Australian market was well thought out.
The two day event was full of interesting and relevant sessions (Silverlight, Sharepoint, WPF, XAML, AJAX, Live, Popfly, Expression, etc) that were put on by a bunch of really good presenters…the crowd was a good mix of designers and developers…the venue was just right (and it was in Melbourne)…the party on Monday night was a good night out (made even better by getting to hang out with some good friends…new and old)…and it was great to have the chance to catch up with a bunch of MS people that i don’t get to see to often now that i’m not based in Sydney.
Like i said..it was a great event and hopefully the first of many that Microsoft will put on for the web industry…see you at next years event :)

No worries dg
The GPS logging unit is a Sony GPS-CS1 - http://www.sony.com.au/dis/catalog/product.jsp?categoryId=34377 - they have the price listed at $229, but shop around as i got a much better price ;)

I was annoyed that i missed this event.
Silverlight would have been intersting.
Hopefully next time.
